' Plans for the biggest Empire broadcast yet undertaken arc being considered for the unveiling of the Somme Memorial at Thiepval by the Prince of Wales on August Ist. It is hoped to relay .the ceremony to Canada, South Africa, Australia, and possibly to New Zealand. KING'S VISIT TO FLAGSHIP. . RUGBY, July 12. When the King to-day left his yacht in Weymouth Bay to visit H.M.S. Nelson, the royal barge was lowered and manned by sailors, who pulled His iMajesty across to the flagship. Detachments of sailors from other ships 'marched past the King on the Nelson as he stood on a raisedfdais. Later His Majesty left in the,-, aircraft carrier “Courageous” and when she was travelling at thirty knots, a number of machines took off.
