A sound judge and ex-international forward, Mr Dave Williams, gives an interesting impression of the All B.bcks forwards in their play against. Queensland. He. says: “The New Zealander?, have a fine pack, possessing a perfect understanding in all departments. In backing up and short passing they gave a thorough lesson. In the loose they maintained a dose formation, which enabled short-on---'sing to be .exploited. 7 would say that, in the ope.’?, the. All Blacks pack are ideal, with -Solomon as the star. The 1932 AH R l " n,r ° forwards are equal, if not better than the 1
pack.” Wdl-known as • a great ib"ck in h'* day, and as a recent Austr"lmn selector, Mr Jim Flynn isays: “The struck mo n.s being a very solid side, The handling of their backs was cVp and accurate. Like the forwards the back men practised the art of backing up .almost (to 'perfection. ’The, wlvde hack line gave mg (the . impression that they were not fully, extending tlienig.elve'3, and +*mt they could play even better football.” on. Saturday’s garne 1 . the Brisbane “Courier” says: “Featuring a turn of sp-ed that loft the opposition hopple' jy in the re*>r, rnd supplemented V a delightful 'unders.an--ing among the backs and forwards;, the All Blacks demonstrated a decisive ruperioEty. AU Blades have improved their attacking ideas so much that they are going to prove in the second Test that their early Sydney form was all wrong. The display of Kilby’s men against Queensland convinced one that the team is on the high road to victory. They are speedly and accurate, revealing all the subtlety and football ability of a lfighefass combination. ST. MARY’S 0.8. Y. SCHOOL.
