WELLINGTON, July 4

With the exception of receipts from motor vehicles duties and licenses during the financial year ended March 31 last, the estimates of State revenue from taxation) as amended by Mr Downie iStewart in his Financial Statement on October 6, were not reached. The revised estimates set down .revenue .from taxation at £17,760,000, but the total received from this .source, as disclosed' in. the derailed figuues issued yesterday, was £16,189,967, or £1,570,033 less than expected. Customs receipts were estimated : .,at; £6,750,000 in October, but revenue from., this source .reached only £5,904,348, ■< oiv i£845,652 below th 6 estimate. The previous year Customs yielded £7,605,976,. Beer duty was very little 'short ~.of expectatione, yielding £641,079, ; as against the estimate of £650,000.
