AMUSEMENTS.

EVERYBODY’S PICTURES.

“THE EXPERT.’’

TO-NIGHT AND SATURDAY

Grandpa Minick arrives' to live at the home of his son and daughter-in-law. He is a meddlesome old gent, and annoys his daughter-in-law to distraction. He is forever bringing in his tiny pal, ragamuffin Dickie, whom he met while spading the backyard. He entertains his cronies who drop ashes on her ru'g. He harangues the would-be-modern matrons of her club till they leave in high dudgeon. He meddles generally. Grandpa overhears her com- ( plaints to Fred, and without blaming her, decides to become a resident of the Home for the Aged. Rushing post haste to his room for the , admission money, he finds that it been stolen. Remembering sorrowfully that wee Dickie once filched some fruit from a cart when they were walking together, he goes to the tenement, where Dickie’s caretakers —the evil Crowley and his woman, Sadie —deny knowledge of the theft. Dickie, seeing Crowley with the money, informs Grandpa, who gets it back and turns Crowley over to the police. Dickie has returned the suit the old man bought him, and is in rags again when Grandpa, locates him. Since the Home for the Aged admits ‘gentlemen, under ninety’ Grandpa insists that Dickie should be eligible, and the two are finally admitted amid boisterous applause. A good supporting programme will be shown.
