THE LATE MR MAKITANARA

LEVIN, June 28

The obsequies of the late Mr Tuiti Makitanara, M.P. for the Southern Maori Division, took place tlijs afternoon, the interment being on a hilltop in the grounds of h.is residence at Hokio, in the presence of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Education, many tribal representatives, Parliamentarians, and European residents. In the course of an address Mr Forbes refeired to Mr ‘Makitaiiara’s devotion to the interests of the Maori people a|l d his close attention of his Parliamentary duties. The funerail rites were carried out by a representative of the Mormon Church.
