The fortnightly stock salle was held at the Grey abattoir yards on Monday last when about 40 head of fat cattle and 75 tat cheep and lambs were yarded. Prices realised were on a par with those, ruling at Metropolitan yards, the best of the ox and lie fer beef fetching in the vicinity of 20s per lOQlbs., with that for cow beef being relatively less. The prices for sheep were quite ae good as those ruling eilsewheire. The following is a list of the principal sales: On account IV. Derry, Hariliari, 2 fat cows at £5 each, 1 fat cow at £4

On account M. Patrick, 13 i fat ewes at 9-s 9d each, 2 fat lambs at 9s 3d, 13 at Bs, 24 at 7s apiece. On account Hahn Bros., Totnra Flat, 1 good quality heifer at £5 ss, 2 fat tstoers at £5 ss, 2 fat £5, 2 light steers at £4 15s, 3 at £4 10s, 2 at £4 ss. ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. BETTER PRICES RECORDED. CRHISTCHURCH, June 29. The tendency of prices was rather upward at to-day’s live stock sale at Addington, when there was a smaller yarding of fat lambs again. They mostly were plain # and inferior lots. There was keen competition from butchers for the best lots. The others went to the exporters at schedule rates. Prime extra heavy lambs sold to 19/1. prime heavy 14/- to 16/-, prime 10/- to 13/6, medium 8/6 to 9/6. light from 6/-. There was a full yarding of fat sheep, principally owes of medium and light quality. All the lots showed a slight increase in values. The exporters were more active in this section. Another small yarding of beef comprised mostly steers. The quality generally was fair. Competition was more spirited and an appreciable rise in values resulted therefrom. Host heifers and cows showed a greater rise owing to their smaller carcases being more useful to tradesmen. Extra heavy prime bullocks sold to £l3/2'6 prime £B/5/- to £9/15/-, medium £6/s'to £7/y/6, Sight f-om 37/6. Best heavy heifers sold to £B/17/6, prime £6/7/6 to £7/7/6, medium £4/15/- to ,£5/17/6. light from £5/7/6. Heist cows sold to £9/7/6, prime cows _£-5 15/- to £6/17/6, medium £4 to £5/5/-, light from £2. A small offering of store sheep showed no quotable change. There was a small entry of fat pig s . The demand was firmer throughout. ] Porkers fetched 22/6 to 27 /-, heavy j 30/6 to 37/6, choppers £3/16/- to £5 13/-. baconers 48/6 to 55/6, heavy £3 to £3/13/6. Prime vealcrs'were firm.
