Mr A: E. Sloss, of Grey mouth, who has temporarily held the position of Traffic Inspector for the No. 12 Highway District, has now been permanently appointed to the position hv the Transport Board.

Apologies were made on behalf of Air J). J. Evans, and Mr Win. Butler. A letter was read from Otago Expansion League, intimating that through lack o. funds the Government had decided to abandon work on the 1-iaast Pass 'Bond. The League had made a strong protest against the d.e- ---; ismn. It was resolved to support the protest of the, Otago Expansion League. The President (Dr. Teicholmann) staled that the Tourist Department had supplied three enlarged views of Westland scenery, and that- he had arranged for mounting and framing the pictures at a cost oi To 7s. It was decided that, the disposal of the pictures be left to the president, members being unanimously uf the opinion that the pictures wore works of art. It was resolved that the secretary write to local bodies asking for donations to assist publicity work. Hcerence was made to the illness of Messrs AV . Sutler and I). •).
