FIRE DAMAGE

WHAKATANE, June 27
Damage to the extent of over two thousand pounds was caused through a lire which broke out in Oailsleys’ buildings near Whakatane post office at one o’clock on Sunday morning. The shop of Miss Dingle (milliner) was complete)'y gutted and the stock destroyed, while the roof, ceiling and dividing wall of Cailsley's stationery s hop was destroyed, and stock valued at £2500 badly damaged by water. Insurance on buildings £965 in Norwich Union; Cailsley's stock £SOO .in S.Z. £2OO in South British, £2OO m Northern Insurance. Miss Dingle's stock £275 in State Fire Department.
