DOMINION WHEAT
A SHORTAGE IN SUPPLY
DEPUTATION TO MINISTER,
(By Telegraph— i'er Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, June 21
The recent decision of the Government to allow the importations of wheat from Australia, in view of the inadequacy .of the New Zealand crop to meet the present requix-ements, was the subject of a deputation to the Premier and the ‘Customs Minister today, by representatives of the wheat growers, flour millers and other interests.
•It is understood that the deputation sought information as to the quantity of wheat which the' Government proposed to allow to come from outside. The members of the deputation later expressed their satisfaction with the outcome of the deliberations.
Though it was stated that no definite reply was given, it is gathered that the question is to be discussed in Cabinet.
