She war, congratulated by Dr McArthur, S:Mi, on her first appearance. Miss Monteith was admitted as a solocitor at Hokitika. Personal.—Mr James Park of -Hokitika has been appointed Deputy,. Inspector of the Seaview Mental Hospital. Upper Kokatahi.—The chairman of the Education Board, Mr Michel, and Mr Morton;' Inspector of Schools,, visited the Upper Kokatahi yesterday and conferred with the local committee and householders regarding the petition for ,a new school on the 700 acre block. If the committee recommended it, the Board will at once, erect, a suitable School in conipliance with the wishes of the householders. The school would open with about twenty pupils. /
