There were declines in the values of fat cattle and fat lambs at the Metropolitan Market at Addington on Wednesday. The cattle yarding was another big. one, but the quality all over was a little better, a very fine line of fifty steem from the North Island building up the standard. There were also some good lines from local graziers. The demand was dull even for the best, end a further decline was recorded. The fat lamb schedule was reduced a farthing, and buying was conducted on this basis. Butchers were keen to get well-finish-ed, medium-weight lambs. The fat sheep yarding was not uo large as that forward last week, but wan very mixed inequality. The proportion of good sheep' was better, rithe south contributing materially in this section. There was keener demand for light freezing sorts, and for the very lightest class of bu to bets’ ewe, and both these types showed an advance. Others sold at about late rates. The veal entry was large and of good quality. The best sorts sold at late rate.?, but a number of lines were passed. T,;ore was a- good demand for bacon pigs, and porkers met a fair demand.
