A new political crisis Hfis-arisen- in connection witii tile -l'ree port 'of Dali-' 1 Kig'. it was created a. free port under ill. - ivaco Treaties. Poland was recently iv[M.ru'dcd.s-;inakinfi plans to seize it. it appears that the Polish destroyer “v'ithor” without permission entered the harbour. There was alieady a fiotiila, of British destroyers in the harbour.
The Danzig Government protested at the Polish vessel’s entry. The Polish Commissioner in the city thereupon replied that the “Vichor” had entered the port only to salute the British warships. He added that the Polisli Government did not recognise the regulations of the Government o-f Danzig stipulating tha,t Polish warships must obtainNany permission to/enter the harbour, The Government of the town thereupon sent an ultimation to the Vichor to depart that afternoon, The Vichor, however, still remains in the harbour,. .Jt is expected-the local Senate will, protest to the League Of Nations.
