At the end of the first day’s play in the Kirk-Dindeyer Cup contest, New South AVales leads New Zealand by two matches to nil. The foursomes resulted : Ferrier and Thompson defeated Hornnbrook and Silk, eleven up. Bettington and Witliycombe defeated Black and Brinsden, three up. The players had to contend with a strong wind, it reaching gale force in tlie afternoon, and a thunder shower in the morning, which drenched the players.
