Early to-day the Opposition was leading in four constituencies and hud elected a candidate in a fifth. The Government was, leading in only one constituency. The defeat of the Prein ier, Sir R. Squires l.y Mir Harold . Mitchell by a six hundred majority,in Trinity South was conceded at.. nop,n,i when there were only a few polls unreported. In ail the constituencies nor actually decided, the Opposition had the leading position, in most cases, by an overwhelming majority. Tim Opposition Leader, Air F. C., Allcrdiee, was well ahead in St. John’s West.
