Received t.his day at 1.5 p.m.) ,- - r ,r -VANCOUVER, May 30. • At Indianopolis, Freddy Frame, of Los Angeles, won the five hundred mile international automobile- race to-day, about one minute ahead of Howdy Wilcox, of Indianapolis. The time of four hours forty-eight minutes is a new record. Frame, who is aged thirty-six, was second la-t year. Cliff Bergire, of Los Angeles, was third, and Bob Nnrey, of Anderson (Indiana) fourth.
Frame -wins the twenty thousand dollar prize. There- were one hundred and fifty thousand spectators -present. Billy Arnold, of Chicago, received a broken collarbone and his mechanic, “Spider’' Matlock, a broken pelvis bone in the race's major sma-h up when Arnold drove into a retaining wall on the hundred and fiftieth mile.
