DRIVER UNDER INFLUENCE
DROVE THE PRINCE IN FRANCE

'Having been one of the motor-driv-.ers who was chosen to drive the Prince of Wales when lie was in France, Eric' Elsdyle Morgan, 39, sales manager, pleaded guilty at London Sessions to. having been under the influence, of drink when driving a motor-car in the ’Clerkemvell district, and also to having driven the vehicle in a dangerous manner.
For the defence, Mr E. 15. McClure stated that Morgan had driven over 500,00!) miles, lie had been driving years and had nothing against him. AC present lie was driving SOD miles a week in the course of business. In describing Morgan’s record as ■‘marvellous,” 1 Mr Cecil Whitley. K.C. explained that 1 in certain eases the Court could exorcise its discretion as to the suspension of the license, "and if ever there was a ease this is one in which it is iusL'ficd.” His lordship directed that Morgan’s license should not be suspended, hut fined him £5 on each ol the two charges, and ordered that he should pay 20 guineas costs.
