ANOTHER ATLANTIC FLIGHT

START MADE ON SATURDAY

NEW YORK, May 28,

Stanley Hausner, of Linden, New Jersey, hopped off at 3.5 o’clock on Saturday afternoon on .a projected flight to Europe in a Bellanea plan) of only 220 horsepower. The plane is capable of a speed of about one hundred miles an hour . When he was last seen Hausner was taking a south-east course which would take him over the water quickly. He was having difficulty to gain altitude.

Little is known of Hausner. He holds a limited private license, which is the lowest grade available. He is a native of Poland.

FRENCH AIRMAN MISSING

LONDON, May 28

A Marseilles message states that an aeroplane piloted by Goulette, who recently broke the Cape record, and Moreau, in which two survivors of the liner Georges Pliilipar, M. Lang-Vil-lars and lii-s wife were returning from Brindisi is reported to be missing.

The weather was bad when the plane started. It is believe dthat they plane stated. I tis believed that they that may have fallen into the sea, or upon the mountains. A War Department aeroplane made a search which proved fruitless .

MRS PUTNAM HONOURED

RUGBY, May 27

The aviatrix, 'Mrs Putnam, was yesterday entertained by the Royal Aero Club to luncheon, and by the Royal Aeronautical Society at dinner. In each case, she was the first woman to whom such an honour has been accorded at the Royal Aero Club. Famous British flying women, including Lady Bailey, Miss Winifred Spooner and Miss Amy Johnson were present to meet her.

TRANS-ATLANTIC FLIER RETURNS

(Received this day at 8 n.m.) NEW YORK, May 28

Hausner returned, to the airport here at 9.20 p.m. on Saturday, six hours after his take-off. He was three hundred miles out to sea when the artificial horizon failed. He announced plans for a fresh start, possibly on Tuesday.
