MORE ’QUAKES

WELLINGTON. May 27
At 3.42 this morning the seismograph at the -Dominion observatory began recording-da big earthquake. Preliminary tremors lasted for two minutes fifteen ’ seconds, and then violent oscillations were recorded. About three hours’ preliminary calculation indicates that the direction was N.N.E. of New Zealand, probably near the Kerliiadecs.
