BAG-SNATCHING

AN IMPUDENT CASE,

WORK OF THREE YOUNG MEN

AUCKLAND, May 25

An impudent case of bag-snatching in which three or more young men were implicated, occurred in Gladstone Road, Mount Albert, on Saturday evening. Only a few shillings were obtained as a result of the robbery.

Mrs A. Phillips, of Pukekohe, and her mother, Mrs W. Darlow, were walking toward the tramway terminus in New North Road when a young man suddenly ran toward them. He bumped into Mrs Phillips and snatched her bag from her arm, and escaped. Both women immediately called for assistance, and Mrs Phillips -ran after the young man. Her cries were heard by Mrs G. Mcßride, of 18, Glad-stone Road, who joined in the pursuit. Mrs Mcßride is convinced that three other young, men were concerned in the affair.
