CHRISTCHURCH, May 26
Six months’ hard labour was the sentence on John Stephen MuKegney, aged 30, a labourer, charged with selling a paper, “The Red Worker,” which incited lawlessness and expressed seditious intention. McKegney . is already serving six months’ following the recent trouble, and the sentences are to be cumulative.
The Magistrate, Mr E. D. Mosley, said that authorities shou'd take action against the publisher and suppliers ot the publication. The prosecutor said that action ~ h-’d already been taken, and the publ ‘•’h ! of the paper .had been fined. Other measures are pending.
