Half way through the second spell, Mawhera notched a goal from a scramble in the circle. Rpvers then had a turn at shooting but, jq.sfc missed the net and Mawhera cleared. A hard shot at goal was well stopped by the Rover goalie and cleared, but a few minutes before time Mawhera scored a second goal from a scramble in the circle. Mawhera team played well individually, although good concerted movements were missing.

Royers have improved since their practice match and with the experience gained yesterday should improve further as the season advances. R. Ward played well on the. wing, Mrs Eager was very sound in defence' and R. Stapleton got through a tremendous amount of work in fine style, her hitting as well as Mrs Eager’s being a feature of the game and both gained a lot of ground.

The referees were Messrs R. Paterson and O’Brien.
