RIOTERS AT AUCKLAND

AUCKLAND, May 24
The Supreme Court trial of fourteen men accused of participating- in the riot was continued to-day. Police evidence, closely following that given in the lower court, was given.
Conn sol for tile accused endeavoured to show that the identification b. the particular men in the surging crowd outside the Town Hull was difficult. One witness said that it was quite possible to identify the leaders, especially as they came at close quarters Detective Knight, when asked why he had not arrested the accused, Silver, during the riot, said that, owing to the frenzy of the crowd it would have been' absolutely suicidal to attempt it. i. - :i
