AT HIKURANGI MINE.

WHANGAREI, May 23.

A,s. the outcome of a meeting of the Hikurangi miners’ union on Sunday, men employed by the Hikurangi Coal Company numbering one hundred and thirty have gone 011 strike. The safety men, twenty-two, remain on duty. The meeting passed the following resolution—[That the men reaffirm their previous decision to down tools until the notices of dismissal to fiftyfive men, who, have been discharged are withdrawn; that they wish to discuss with the Company re sharing of work and in the meantime have decided not to resume work.
