The relief workers’ strike was officially declared off at a meeting of de,egates -this morning.

A mass meeting carried a vote of thanks to Air P. Fraser, M.P., for the splendid way in which lie had attended to our wants, to Mrs Snow for her assistance in the soup kitchen, and to the Alliance of Labour and the Trades and Labour Council for the use of halos and services rendered. ‘ The relief workers’ organisation set up during the strike has not been disbanded.

PROTEST BY EX-SOLDIERS

DUNEDIN, May 21

A meeting of one hundred returned soldiers passed the following resolution ; —“We disabled soldiers in receipt ■of pensions emphatically protest against ex-servicemen being penalised for relief work under No. 5 scheme, because they .are in receipt of disability pensions.”
