BOARD DISPUTE

CHAIRMAN AND MAYOR. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 21. Certain correspondence between the Board and the Auditor-General on matters concerning the internal management of the Board’s affair,s were discussed at a meeting of the Fire Board.

The chairman, Mr N. Nelson, said that the Mayor's recent remarks must be considered to be of an ex parte nature, and he intended to reply to them: .fully.

“I will make a full statement at the Board meeting to be held next Friday" said Mr Nelson, “and that .statement will be handed to the Press for publication. Everything in connection with the ca,se will be included. If the Mayor wants the Sunlight he can have it-”

Mr Semple gave notice of motion that the appointment of the- DeputySuperintendent be terminated.
