MARRIED MEN MOSTLY RESUME

Although, no official announcement has yet been made, it is apparent that the relief workers’ strike at Wellington is over. , ■
T. e' Chairman ov the Strike Cernmitice (Mr A. Eraser) has relinquished his position.
‘•What is the use of striking when about nine-tenths of the men have returned to work?” remarked one of the strikers to-day. A meeting of the single unemployed men was held at the Trades Hall this morning, but the attendance was noticeably smaller than at the meetings hold earlier in the week.
During the last few days there has been a steady increase in the number of married men returning to relief work, about 300 reporting for work each day. To day was mainly a single men’s day rth the relief works in Wellington hint 982 meh repotted for work out oi 1.232,
Approximately 230 married men were also working to-day.
