The “Times” Dublin correspondent states that Mr Cosgrave, addressing the annual convention of the Ctunanna Ngaedheal Party, said: “Looking over the history of the past ten years, one cannot fail to discern a sinister influence behind the attempts of the Fiannu Fail to gain office.
“There has been a conspiracy against ordered administration, democratic institutions and national economy. The Cumanna Ngaedheal Party stands, not for every line and comma of the Treaty, but for such alterations as agreed to by the high contracting parties.”
Mr Blythe, a former Finance Minister, said owing to the oath policy, Free State delegates might "'ell save the jvice of their tickets to, Ottawa. The Fianna Fail tolerated the 1.R.A., because it wanted a machine to terrorise voters at next election.
