SPORTING WRITER’S OPINION.
(By Ttlegraph—Per Press Association)
AUCKLAND, May 17.
“I have no doubt, distasteful as it is to say it, that Pliar Lap was deliberately poisoned l ,” said Mr H. A. Wolfe, an Australian sporting wiriter, who went to America to report for a group of newspapers on the doings of the champion. “The suggestion that lie died from colic ts all moonshine” .said Wolfe'. “After investigation it was found that the theory that he had eaten alfalfa sprayed with arsenate of lead, would) not hold water.”« Wolfe said that Phar Lap won the big race in a canter and no doubt, with ordinary luck in training, would have remained unbeaten. He was 'certain that Amnion Ra would do well in America.
