A flag match was pliayed by tha Hokitika Golf Club on Saturday and was wpn won by Tomlinson (30), who, with five strokes in hand on the 19th tee, finished on the 19th green. Hart (30), who was unfortunate enough to have two penalty strokes added for Jiitting the flag, was second with two strokes left after completing the 18 holes. / ... _ . ..... Men members are - reminded‘that next - '’ ■Saturday will be the .nominated four ball bogey handicap for which nominations must be in to. the : secretary by 9 a.m. on Thursday. Players not nominated by that time will* be drawn with their partners.
LADIES’ GOLF. The first Senior Bogey match for the season will be played next Wednesday, May 18th, p'iayers to arrange their own partners.
The following is the draw for the unearned handicap division to be play: ed °n Wednesday: Miss Elsie Cooke v. Miss Betty Yarrsll; Miss Alva 'McIntosh v. Mas 11. Park; Miss Cox v. scorer.

Henry Cotton and W. Twine, each with 281, tied for the professional 1500 guineas Southport golf tournament at Hesketh.
Other scores were:—A. Perry 282, A. Compston 284, ‘R. Whitcombe 290, Abe Mitchell and A. H. Padgiham 291, Percy Allis 292, C. Dennis and G. Havers 295, and G. Duncan 296.
Despite torrential rain, Compston equalled the course record of 67. LONDON, May 15.
At Southport gblf tourney, in their replay, Cotton, 145, beat Twine 146. Three thousand watched Cotton retain the trophy after one of the grimest encounters in golf history. Cotton led in the first round, with 71.. Thereafter, Twine, who had taken 73 in tV round, made the pluckiest recovery. Once he was three’ down. He squared at the 34th, by holing a six yard putt. Cotton won the next and halved the last hole, sacking 44. Twine, did 73.
