CHRYSANTHEMUMS
SHOW AT GREYMOUTH
The West Coast Horticultural Society were attended with success, when it held its first Chrysanthemum Show in the Druids’ HaJl on Sa:urday. AH ot the classes were well filled. The outstanding feature 1 of- the chrysanthemum section were the exhibits of the Hoki:ika competitors. Mr Fitzgerald’s 'winning Hk’’ : in Class A were huge b'corns- that 1 were adm'-red by everyone present.’ ■ His winners in other classes were-hot far behind. Mr Askew had two white Chinese tha were wonderful 'for fineness of petal and tightness of texture. His Japs were also uniformly good. Mr A. Groufsky and Mr J. Lincoln also had good prize-winning blooms. The Hokitika quartette of growers were indeed creditably represented by their choice blooms.
The prize list included ; Six- Japanese chrysanthemums (varieties)—Mr Fitzgerald (Hokitika) 1, Mr Flaherty (South Beach) 2, Mr A. Greenwood 3.
