BUSINESS nearing the end

MINISTERS FEEL STRAIN.

WELLINGTON, May 3.

The present session of Parliament has been a most strenuous one, particularly for Cabinet Ministers. Mr Forbes has predicted that the business will be finished by next Saturday morning, but: some! of big; supporters 1 hto very dcan-bee accomplished. “Eveln working at higli' pressure,” said one of them last night, “it may take us a fortnight to get the decks cleared.” _ Ministers* however, are more sanguipp, and 1 are eagerly looking, forward to the final ringing of the division hells. The session from their point of view has been an ordeal, many long hours having been sjient -in close-,•- Cabinet consultations, while rank and file members were enjoying week-end respites in their electorates.

Mr Forbesj who lias had a particularly trying time, is bearing up well under the strain, although he is still working at a pressure few ordinary parliamentarians could respond' to. He has not decided yet whether he will '.spend a few days in his electorate after the session ends. “I would like- to have a few days at Cheviot if tfcpnld l manage it,” lie remarked. -A
