Newspapers pay a : .tribute.to. Mr MacDonald’s oourage, and emphasise the importance of his retention of the premiership. The “Time's,” in a leader, says that Mr MacDonald is almost indispensible to Britain, which under his guidance, became the admiration of the world. The “News Chronicle” says that it would be most unfortunate if ill-health prevented his attendance at Lausanne, which is likely to be the decisive moment of a long and dreary drama in the European crisis.
