GREY STOCK SALE,
W. Jeffries and Co. report their fixture at above yards on .Monday as follows : Our entry comprised 221 sheep and lambs, 8 head cattle and 1 bacon pig. There win quite a good attendance of butchers and farmers but the sale was lifeless from start to finish and cattle were unsaleable. -Most of our pens were su’d by private treaty and in this way a total cleamnce, was effected at satisfactory prices a-s follows: 30 store ewes and wethers at 9s, 3 lambs at 9s, 50 fat crossbred ewes at 145,, 23 ditto at 12s 3d, 12 ditto at 12s 6d„ 50 ditto at 13s. 15 ditto at 13s, 38 fat wethers at 15s 9d. Throe fat cow/ at £5 ?s 6d, 3 steers at £8 ss, 2 ditto at £B. Two 2 tooth Romney rams at £3 ss, one bacon pig at £3.
