NAPIER, April 29
An illustration of the improvement created through the earthquake to the breakwater -facilities was given to-day. The conditions, which are consistent with the indications given in hist evi-n----jug'.s weather forecast are very boisterous. -As a- result of the- added protection afforded through tlie raising of the beach and breakwater, three vessels were berthed at the breakwater to-day while the inner harbour was unworkable. The vessels include the tanker Paua and the heavy dredge Kiaone recently hired from the Wanganui Harbour Board to undertake the dnilgni" of the channel to the inner harbour entrance.
