INJURED IN ACCIDENT,

NEW PLYMOUTH, April 21

Arcliibald W. Rowles and F. Locke, both of Waitara, received serious head injuries to-night w.lien Rowles cai left the road and crashed into an electric light pole at New Plymouth. The force of the impact split the stout pole half way up, and plunged the. district into darkness. The car Mb the road after crossing Wniwakaiho bridge. It missed one pole, and the rear struck the next. The car jumped towards the roadway, landed on its nose, somersaulted and slewed round. The hospital reported that both men have head injuries, and their condition is fairly critical.
