SENTENCES AT DUNEDIN
THEFT CHARGES PREFERRED
DUNEDIN, April 20
Arnold Aloysios 'Haggitt. aged 35, and Ernest William Walter Haggitt, aged 37, wen* charged in the Police Court to-day with interfering with the working of the telephone system. Hie former being also charged with the theft of goods, also six bicycles. Accused were 'caught redhanded interfering wifh a ’ telephone box, and when ari'es'ted. had sixty-two pennies in (heir possession. The police stated Chat since February, forty telephone boxes had been broken open at night. The Magistrate sentenced' Arnold Haggitt to itwelve months' gaol on the first charge and six months' for . theft, the sentences to be eiimular.ive.
