MORE OPPOSITION

CIVIL SERVANTS

AGAINST FURTHER REDUCTION.

(By Telegraph—Per Pres- Association )

NEW PLYMOUTH, April 19

The following resolutions were unanimously carried by the New Plymouth section of the Post and Telegraph Employees’ Association:—

“'flint this section refutes the Prime Minister’s assertion that the previous cuts were quite acceptable to the civil servants, and reiterates its wholehearted support o. the Executive in its endeavours to prevent any further reductions.”

“That this Section emphatically protests against the provision of Clause 9, Paragraph 2, of the National Expenditure Adjustment Act, which gives tile Superannuation Board the power to retain the. credits due to the contributors, and the Section considers that such action is iniquitous, and is not British justice. We demand that, in the event of any further wage cuts being inflicted, a refund of the contributions paid at the higher rate shall he made forthwith, as it is considered that the Government has ho moral right to retain such monies. ’*
