As a direct result of the recent visit of Oxford and Cambridge students to the Argentine scholarships for Argentine students have been instituted at Oxford and at Cambridge Universities on the same conditions aia-rtlie*- R hodes - ‘scholarships. - -The* fouiiidation of an association in the Argentine for the study of English culture by the British Minister, -in 192-7, provided art excellent opportunity for Argentinians to learn English and become acquainted with English literature.
Reciprocal action has now beeln taken by the Argentine University of Buenos Aires, which was founded with the object of bringing out British men of letters to lecture on literary, iscientific and art subjects. Some time ago a similar movement was organised in connection with the United States, and .so far sixteen scholarships’ have been granted to Argentinians in American un.iveils*ties and institutes of 'technology.
