REQUESTS FOR HELP STILL COMING IN. '%» WELLINGTON, April 18. Am announcement regarding the rehabilitation of Hawke’s Bay was made by the Hon W. Downie Stewart today. • A number of applications for tvsisfistance under the Hawke’s Bay Earthquake Act,' 19.31, are still coming to hand, he said, although the closing date for the receipt of such applications was announced in February in order to afford an opportunity of having these applications dealt with and the work of. the Rehabilitation Oom- / mittee in this matter definitely comjL pleted. . ) The Minister has now arranged for the committee to' accept and consider applications received up to April 30th. y where a valid reason is given for the delay in making them. “It is to be distinctly understood,” Mr Downie Stewart added /‘that this is the last exteplson of time which will he granted for the receipt of these applications.”
