MURDER HINTED

CHILD’S BODY

FOUND LYING IN SCRUB.

WELLINGTON, April 15

Vera Foster, aged 41 years, the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Forster/ of Upper Hutt, was found about 0 o’clock to-night in circumstances pointing to murder. Her b°dy was in a scrub bush at the end of Cruickshank Road, Maoribank, beyond Upper Hutt. She was missing’ since about 10 o’clock this morning and a. search party of about forty set out at about 1 p.rn. A piece of iron piping was found near the body, and a blow or blows, had been received at the back of the head.

The body was taken to the Upper Hutt Police Station, before removal to the morgue at Wellington. Detective McLennan and Sergeant Butler, of Peto.ne, are investigating.
