BIG RIVER GOLD MIXES, LTD. The manager of the Big River Gold Mines '(Reeftou) repoiks that during .he month of 'March repair work on the main shaft down to Xo. 2 level has been carried out, and should be completed within a week. The aerial tramway is now repaired, also the ore bins, the air compressor, and the remainder of the plant. Work has been carried out in The Xo. 2 adit level, where the north-west-crosscut has been extended 28 I'eJ into new ground and a heavy mineralised formation was pa-sed through. The outlook is encouraging. Work on the rise above the north-west croiscu. in the Xo. 2 level, where the stone has an average width of sft, has been temporarily suspended until the repairs to the shaft are completed. A south drive has been opened out on the reef in the north-west crosscut, the lode track being the full width of the drive. The manager also reports that some surface prospecting has been carried out on the .two outcrops of undeveloped reefs close 'to the engine-house and the manager's residence, and a winze has been sunk on the one close to the engine-house, where the reel is 2tt 6in wide, and fair prospects have been obtainable in the dish.
