ZEEBRUGGE MEN’S REUNION PROPRIETY QUESTIONED. CHRISTCHURCH, April 12. A prolonged discussion ns to whether beer should be supplied to merchant seamen u v ho took part in the Zeehrugge raid, who will he entertained by the Canterhiirv branch of the Xavv League on April 23 (St. George’s Day), took place at a meeting of the General Committee of the Navy League last evening. Some of the members did not want to have the gathering at all. am! others wanted to hold it. but did not favour a supply of beer for those attending, as was the usual custom. One member said the men might become disorderly if beer were distributed. and this would make the gathering unpleasant. After further discussion it was decided to hold the entertainment. No motion of censure was passed against beer, ns it was fell, that to exclude it would he detrimental to « good attendance
