Fat cattle were cheaper Jit the Metropolitan Market which was held at Addington on "W ednesday. The yarding was a heavy one, but the quality was not at all prepossessing on the whole. There were odd fines of good stuff forward, and these sold wJI. but tlie large proportion of inferior cow beef to hand was difficult to dispose of. The fat sheep section attracted a good entry, the. quality being fair, demonstrating that there is still good feed available. Values all over were itte changed from ast week, but three was a rise in the pi ice of prime medium-weights, of which there was a shortage. Fat lambs sold well at last week’s rates, the sale being a steady ope throughout. The better class of veal offered made late rates, but there was little demand for inleiior sorts. The visit of the Originals, a bright vaudeville combination from the J. C. Wilkinson Coy. and Fuller-Hay ward circuit, which took places, at Princess Theatre last night, attracted a good audience, who gave the various performers a flattering reception. Fast and furious, item followed item in •rapid succession, and there was not a dull moment. The specialties were undoubtedly the ballet and dancing items by five young ladies with Tcheka me Russian dancer taking the leading role. Her items were always goon, and were specially applauded. Little Mercia, a dot of tender years made a very pleasing appearance in solo items, while Mrs Lee Swanson solo dancer also proved most successful. Hex Sayers’ bright personality was a pleasing feature and his several items gave pleasure, while Tom Richards, baritone, was in good voice and received numerous encores. The comedy element was supplied by Mr Fred Mor*n, a former well known “Digger” success, who filled the bill successfully, his sallies being remarkably good and his appenrnce doubly welcome every time. With Miss Ivy Akerstein at the piano the general enjoyment was added to, the accompany mentis being a special feature of what proved an enjoyable and successful entertainment.
