CHANGES IN WELLINGTON,

WELLINGTON, April 4

Radical changes in the method to be adopted in playing this year’s open and amateur golf championships were decided upon at a meeting of the New Zealand Golf Association, this evening.

The open championship will consist of four rounds open to any professional who enters, together with the lowest handicap amateurs, equal to the number of professionals participating. The amateur championship will consist of the 64 lowest handicap amateurs who enter, and there will be no qualifying .round, but a straight out draw. There will be 30 hole matches each day.
