ST PAUL’S METHODIST CHURCH

The annual meeting of the Ladies’ Guild was fully -attended in the Parsonage yesterday afternoon. The repoit of the year's work was presented by the President (Airs Knowles-Smith) and -this, with *he Treasurer’s statement, evidenced the splendid work of the chuich ladies-

'1 he officers for -the coming year were elected as follows: —'Hon. President: Airs Hailwood ; President: Mrs WlPerrv ; Vice-Presidents : Mesdames Collett and Gilchrist; Secretary: Airs T. W. Duff; Treasurer : Mrs Oliver ; Sacramental Stewards: (Miss Walker and Airs P. Goodfellow.

This being the final meeting with the 'President, Airs T. W-.VDuff voiced the very'- happy fellowship which had chaiacterised the six years of Mts KnowlesiSmith’s leadership, her general and whole-hearted co-operation with ‘them, and on behalf of the Guild Ladies presented Airs Knowles-Smith with a 'eiy beautiful bouquet and a handsome pursebag. The President thanked the Indies for their very generous recognition of her companionship with -them and expressed the hope that her successor-,* MrsHailwood would have as happy a term with them,

The Official Board of the Church met in the evening wliert arrailgenientt; were finalised for the official farewell to the ,Rev and Mrs Knowles-Smith to be held in the All Saints Parish Hall on Monday evening ■ next and the visit of the Chairman of the District, Rev. Stock<well, to induct the ‘Rev. Hailwood 011 Friday, April 15th.
