NEW HOKITIKA OLIJB
TO BE KNOWN AS THE ROVERS
For the purpose of forming a. second Hockey (JJub in Hokitika, a meeting was held on Tuesday evening, tvlieii there was a large attendance of members.
T/ie following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr I). J. Evans’; preskrew;, M.r M. Ooulsoii; vice-presidents, Alesdaines Preston and Butler, Messrs Lawn, .J. AfcCleary, A. Perry, AV. 1). Maekay, 11. Steel, W. WiLson, R. Lynn, P. Ross, D. Dowell, 11. lvortegast, J. Murdoch, H. Newman, JJ. Bulpiri, W. Stopi’urth, ,J. J. Afcin-to-sh, W. E. Williams, J. .J. Breeze, W. E. Brown, H. G. E. Coles, F. McGregor, .J S'. Langford, Kernahan, S'. J. Preston, and- Dr. Hart; captain, .Miss 0. Stapleton; vice-captian, Airs Eager; secretary, AlLss A. Stapleton; committee, Alissos AL. Stickles, AT,. Connolly, E. Wells, T. Midland and officers ex officio; coach. Rev. 0. A. Naylor; referee, Air R. Paterson. It was' decided that the club colours he red and white, and that the club be known as the .Rovers. The subscription was fixed as follows:—School girls 2,s 6d. other members 3s. It was decided to write to the Borough Couueil asking lor the use of a ground <ui C'ass Square, also to the nughy Sub-Union asking if it would Ire possible to appoint members as gate keepers. A vote of thanks was accorded to Air P. Ross for the donation of hockey sticks and a hall to the club. it wa-,S' decided to hold the opening practice on .Monday, April Jth.
