Mr Ramsay MacDonald, answering a questioner in the Commons, said the subject of extending sales of British coal to Canada was being caret ull\ considered in preparation lor the Ottawa conference. Mr Matey: Will you make it clear that Canada will receive no more preference unless she buys more coal in Britain and less in the United States.-' Mi- MacDonald: I am sure Ministers going to Ottawa will note Liu- observation.
Sir John Simon tuld Mr Hannon that the Argentine Government had made inquiries in reference to sending a trade mission to Britain, hut the Ambassador was informed that in view oi Britain’s desire not to prejudice the Ottawa Conference, no useful purpose would he served by a delegation coming at present.
LOTTERIES BILL. INTRODUCED IN BRITAIN. RUGBY, March 22. The House of Commons, by 176 votes to 123, granted leave to Sir William' Davidson, a private Conservative. Member, to introduce a Lotteries Bill, the object of which is to authorise the raising of money by means: of lotteries for charitable, scientific and artistic purposes, or any public improvement or other public object under conditions to he approved by the Secrete rv of State.
