The National Union of Manufacturers suggested that Mr MacDonald should summon' representatives from the whole Empire to Ottawa, to survey the resources of the Empire, with a view to concentrating production in most suitable places, and prepare a tarff for Imperial Customs union. The “Sun’s” Ottawa correspondent states: Tile Government is considering postponing the Imperial Conference opening from July 18th to 21st, to enable the Antipodean delegates to arrive for the inaugural session. The steamship service forbids their arrival by July 18th.
