COUPON TRADING
GERMAN PROHIBITION. BERLIN, March 10. The German ■Government has introduced a bill into the Upper House to prohibit coupon trading. The bill states that it is forbidden in retail trade to offer any free gilt as an inducement 1 1 purchase a certain article. Exceptions are to lie made in cases where gifts of small value are offered as advertisements, or in lien of a definite rebate, or when the purchaser is given the choice to claim the value of the gift in cash. Firms which offer rebates in the form < f gifts may "(>t, however, claim that their gifts are given free.
