GOVERNMENT BAN LIKELY

WELLINGTON, March 18

’The Art Union at present being ran .throughout New Zealand is the last of .a series for which permission has been given, and it is; possible that the Government will place a ban on Art Unions after .this one is drawn.

It- is admitted that Art Unions have been run for, deserving causes, hut the conditions under which they are being run is causing dissatisfaction, and conditions more strict than in the past aie likely >to prevail in -the future. Art Unions for which permits have been granted were authorised by the United 'Government and lit is understood that the whole position will be reviewed at an early date by the Coalition Cabinet. ‘
